Santiago

Santiago Good Friday.jpg

We are in Santiago de Compostela in the northwest part of Spain on Good Friday. The rain has cleared and the processions go forward on schedule. The “pasos” (movement of floats) is narrated by a solemn voice on a loudspeaker. This was a visual means of narrating the Gospel to a largely illiterate medieval audience. Now it is also a tourist spectacle. We pause to reflect on the death and resurrection of Christ. Tomorrow, our road begins - 1,200 kilometers from Santiago de Compostela to Marbella on Spain’s southern coast - all on bicycle. Algent Bregu, Kenneth Solano, and I are doing this to raise funds for the Mosaic Cultural Center in Rivas Vaciamadrid, Spain. See our GoFundMe site at: https://www.gofundme.com/ride-to-benefit-mosaic-cultural-center. Stay with us. We will be posting every day.

We will ride this route. 1,200 kilometers beginning on April 20, 2019 until we finish in Marbella on May 3, 2019.
